Real-World Examples
Example 1: E-commerce Store
"I want to launch a campaign. My product costs €50 to acquire customers for. I want to make €100 profit per customer. What budget?"
- ROAS needed: (100 profit + 50 COGS) / 100 = 1.5x ROAS
- You want 200 monthly conversions
- Budget Calculator: 200 conversions × €50 CPA = €10,000/month needed
Example 2: SaaS Company
"We spent €2,000 on ads last month. Got 50 customer sign-ups and €12,000 annual contract value. Good?"
- ROAS: Each sign-up worth €12,000 ARV. 50 × €12,000 = €600,000 total value.
- ROAS = €600,000 / €2,000 = 300x (incredible!)
- Your CPA = €2,000 / 50 = €40 per sign-up (very good)
Example 3: Lead Gen
"My website gets 10,000 monthly visitors. 5% convert to leads. My CPA budget is €10. What budget?"
- Visitors: 10,000
- Expected leads: 10,000 × 5% = 500
- Budget needed: 500 × €10 = €5,000/month
Tips for Accurate Estimates
Be Realistic
- CTR: Google average is 1.5-2%. SaaS is higher (3-5%). Retail is lower (1-2%).
- Conversion rate: 1-3% is typical. 5%+ is excellent.
- CPA: Varies wildly by industry. Don't compare to unrelated industries.
Test Before Scaling
- Use estimator for rough budget
- Run small test (€500-€1,000)
- Measure actual CTR, conversion rate, CPA
- Adjust budget based on real numbers
- Scale winners
FAQ
Q: Are these calculators accurate?
A: They're estimates. Real performance depends on your landing page, audience, product, etc.
Q: Can I save my calculations?
A: No, but you can screenshot or write down results.
Q: What CPA should I target?
A: Must be higher than your cost to acquire. If product costs €30, CPA must be <€15-€20 to be profitable.
Q: Do these tools track my data?
A: No. They're purely client-side math. Nothing is stored or tracked.
