AI Tools for Google Ads in 2026: What Each One Actually Does

Google's own AI, Optmyzr, Opteo, Adalysis, Semrush, free graders and AI assistants: what each one does, what it costs and what it won't do for you.

AdPredictorFebruary 13, 2026Updated September 15, 20267 min read

Most lists of AI tools for Google Ads rank ten products without saying what any of them does with your account. This one is shorter: what each tool's AI actually does, whether it can change your campaigns, what it costs and who it suits. Prices and features come from each vendor's own website, checked in September 2026. One of the tools, AdPredictor, is ours, and it is marked as such.

1. The AI already inside Google Ads

What if this is happening in YOUR account right now?

Connect Google Ads and see in 60 seconds how much you spend without getting customers. We only read your account, never change it.

Before paying for anything, it helps to know what Google already does, because most other tools work on top of it.

Smart Bidding and Performance Max

Smart Bidding sets a bid for every auction based on your conversion goal. Performance Max runs one campaign across Search, YouTube, Display, Gmail, Maps and Discover and decides where the budget goes. Both learn entirely from your conversion tracking: if a form counts twice or a page view counts as a sale, they optimise for the wrong thing, and they do it fast.

AI Max for Search

AI Max for Search, launched in 2025, adds three things to a normal Search campaign: matching to searches your keywords don't cover, ad text that Google adapts to each search, and sending people to the page on your site it thinks fits best. Google has started moving older features, such as Dynamic Search Ads, into it. It can find new customers, and it can also spend on searches you would never have picked, so read the search terms report closely in the first weeks.

Ask Advisor

Announced on 20 May 2026, Ask Advisor is an assistant built with Gemini that works across Google Ads, Google Analytics, Merchant Center and Google Marketing Platform. You ask in plain language and it analyses performance, suggests changes and can help build campaigns. It is in beta for English-language accounts.

What Google's AI does not give you is an outside view. It will optimise whatever goal and budget you give it, but it won't tell you whether that goal or that budget makes sense for your business.

2. Platforms that manage and optimise accounts

These are for people who work on accounts every week, often several of them. They read the account, suggest or automate changes, and apply them when you say so.

Optmyzr

The broadest of the group: rule-based automations, bid management, audits, alerts, reports and an AI assistant called AI Sidekick that answers questions about the account in plain language. It also has tools for Meta and LinkedIn. Pricing depends on how much you spend on ads, and the 14-day trial doesn't ask for a card. Best for agencies and in-house teams with large or many accounts.

Opteo

Opteo gives you a list of recommendations (keywords to pause, negatives to add, bids to adjust, errors to fix) and you apply each one with a click; the change is made in your account and appears in its change history. It also sends alerts and builds reports. Plans start at $129 a month for up to 10 accounts and $25,000 of monthly ad spend. Best for freelancers and small agencies who want the weekly to-do list done faster.

Adalysis

Adalysis is known for ad testing: it tells you which ad in a group is winning and how sure you can be. On top of that come more than 100 audit checks, Quality Score analysis and budget tracking, with unlimited accounts and users on every plan. The price depends on ad spend, and the entry plan has a 30-day free trial. Best for teams that test ads seriously.

3. Research and ad copy

Semrush Advertising Toolkit

Semrush looks outwards: which ads your competitors run, which keywords they bid on, and an AI ad builder to draft headlines and descriptions. The Base plan costs €94.94 a month billed yearly, with a 7-day free trial. It tells you a lot about the market and little about why your own account converts or doesn't.

For ad copy alone, a general assistant such as ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini writes a reasonable first draft if you give it your landing page and the searches that already bring customers. Check every claim before publishing: they make up offers and figures easily.

4. Free audits and graders

WordStream's Google Ads Performance Grader has been free for years: you connect your account and get a score against best practices. SEISO sends a free audit every month and sells paid plans on top. Both are a good first look at an account. Compare what each one covers before relying on a single score.

5. An AI chat with your account data

Since October 2025 Google has published an official, open-source MCP server for the Google Ads API. It lets an assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT read your account and answer questions about it. It is read-only, so it can't change anything, and you run it yourself with Google Ads API access.

It is useful if you know Google Ads well: you still have to know what to ask, check the numbers it gives back and repeat the analysis every week.

6. AdPredictor (ours)

AdPredictor connects to your Google Ads account, reads it and never changes anything. The free audit takes about 60 seconds and shows a health score, your most expensive keywords and how much of the last 30 days went to searches that brought no conversions. The Live audit adds the full report (116 checks with a verdict on every campaign, keyword and search term, an action plan ordered by money, and PDF, Excel and Google Ads Editor files), a chat that answers with your own figures and a watchdog that re-reads the account every night. It starts with 14 free days.

What it doesn't do: it doesn't apply changes for you, it only covers Google Ads, it looks at the last 30 days, and with less than about €10 of spend it says there isn't enough data instead of guessing.

How to choose

  • You want Google to find more customers on its own: Smart Bidding and AI Max, after checking your conversion tracking.
  • You manage several accounts every week: Optmyzr, Opteo or Adalysis, depending on budget and how much you want to automate.
  • You want to see what competitors are doing: Semrush.
  • You want a quick free check: a grader.
  • You want a second opinion on where the money goes without handing over control: a tool that only reads your account: the MCP server if you're technical or AdPredictor if you're not.

What none of them can do

  • See your competitors' bids or budgets. Google doesn't share them with any tool.
  • Fix conversion tracking that isn't set up properly. Every AI on this list learns from it.
  • Know your margins or what a customer is worth to you. That number has to come from you.
